Heated chairs let you enhance your outdoor experience

The cottage experience is a cherished one for many Canadians. It’s part of the Canadian identity, especially in Ontario. The draw of Muskoka’s beautiful lakes and wild spaces is hard to resist.

That beauty and our climate were the inspirations for John Pomeroy and Sally Daub, co-founders of Wrmth.

Emerging from the water and getting hit by a cold, post-swim chill, they wondered why there wasn’t a way to stay warm in the early morning breeze. The two tech entrepreneurs put their heads together and after significant development and research, the solution was born: a heated Muskoka chair.

They partnered with local designers to create and update the look and feel of the classic Muskoka chair. Combining form and function, Wrmth chairs can be controlled for variable heat.

They are perfect for whenever you need a little Wrmth, whether it’s after those cool early morning swims, during summer and fall evenings around the campfire, or right through the winter months.

“We started with the view that sitting on an iconic Muskoka chair should feel like sitting on sun-warmed granite,” explains Sally. The chairs are designed so that sitting outside all year around can be done in comfort without the use of overhead propane heaters.

Featuring easy-to-use temperature settings, as well as dark sky-friendly ambient lighting, John and Sally have created the Wrmth Muskoka chair to be the evolution of modern outdoor furniture.

“We’ve continued to build around that focus, incorporating an app that allows you to engage with the furniture, set your temperature and ambient lighting, and enhance your experience,” says John.

These chairs have a low-carbon footprint, and exceptionally low operating costs, making them an environmentally friendly choice.

They are an ideal option for private docks, porches and campfire settings. Restaurants, breweries, pubs and golf courses can also benefit from the comfort that a heated chair provides their guests, converting otherwise dead real estate into usable space during cooler weather. The chairs are designed to be used all year round.

Although the chairs require electrical power, the cords don’t have to be a challenge.

“We have unique ways to install the chairs and hide the power sources ensuring comfort meets with design,” says Sally.

The co-owners aren’t just the masterminds behind the product – they’re also users of Wrmth. Sally loves spending time outside watching movies, and enjoying those long, cool autumn evenings with friends and family.

John even spent New Year’s Eve last year outside near a fire, only made possible by his heated Muskoka chair. Cottagers can enjoy the Wrmth all year round.

“When the sun goes down or the wind picks up, it can cool off pretty quickly,” says John. “These chairs give you the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors much longer. Certainly, those shoulder season outdoor experiences can be extended.”

And once you sit in a Wrmth chair, you won’t want to give it up.

“We’ve been at parties where people would not relinquish their heated seats,” recalls John. “One lady was even bribing people to hold it for her when she needed to leave for a bit.”

Canadian craftsmanship
Continuing to invest in new designs and product innovation, Sally and John will soon be unveiling more heated furniture options and lifestyle accessories. Muskoka is the ideal place to kick off their heated furniture lines: after all, those cool cottage nights were the inspiration behind the designs.

John and Sally are committed to fabricating locally as well as working with local designers. They are building a fabrication facility in North Bay allowing them to extend their product lines and continue their investment into local innovation. Wrmth is designed and fabricated here in Ontario for Ontarians.

Wrmth plans to become an integral part of the Muskoka lifestyle, enhancing and extending the Ontario outdoor experience with its innovative, beautifully designed Canadian heated furniture options.

Orders can be made online, and the chairs are shipped directly to you. Wrmth furniture on your patio will be a must have for Muskokans who want to indulge and share this premium experience with friends and family.
