Woodland Tree Service

Have your trees cared for by local experts

We often take trees for granted. They’re beautiful and seem to exist purely for our enjoyment. But, as every property owner knows, trees require care and attention like every other living thing. Neglect can be costly and sometimes dangerous.

A certified arborist is someone worth enlisting to repair damage and maintain the health of the trees surrounding your home or cottage. Woodland Tree Service, owned by Steve and Stephanie Cotnam, operates with the motto “Work smart from the start,” and it shows. This husband-and-wife team started their business to combine their talents and work together.

Their process includes carefully planning every job, no matter how small or large, straightforward or challenging. Steve is particularly drawn to tougher jobs turned down by other tree companies. “There hasn’t been one job where we haven’t been able to pull in the right equipment and the right people and get it done.”

It’s a point of pride that all work is performed using well-maintained, high-tech equipment that protects the arborists, the property owner, and the site itself. From the first call and consultation to tree care and work site clean-up, the Woodland team is professional and focused on maintaining a clean and functional work site.

Ground protection mats ensure that all landscaping is protected from their equipment. “People have invested a lot of money in their lawns and grounds,” Steve explains. “We arrive with the equipment and supplies required to limit damage and leave things as we found them.”

Services range from trimming and pruning to stump grinding, removal, and tree health assessments. Healthy trees are safer trees, and they add to the natural beauty of a property. The fleet works throughout Simcoe County, Muskoka, and surrounding areas on both scheduled and emergency jobs.

Storms can damage trees, and precariously positioned trees can create further havoc for homeowners. “We encourage everyone to reach out to an expert if you encounter a storm damage situation or have one on your property,” says Steve. “Again, it’s all about safety.”

This family-owned and operated business has quickly earned a sterling reputation for high standards and quality work. They’re excited to grow their fleet while raising their family in a supportive and vibrant community.
