Does it seem like the water tastes a little different everywhere you go?
Sure, there is a common understanding that municipal water won’t be the same as well water or lake water, but it just seems like every single town or city varies vastly.
There is a solution that will provide consistency in taste, says Eric Dube of Water Depot.
“A reverse osmosis system will purify your drinking water,” he says. “It doesn’t matter the source: it could be municipal water, well water, or lake water. Whether it’s your home in Toronto or your cottage, the taste will be the same.”
Though it probably doesn’t need to be stated, water is the most important part of our lives. It’s essential for hydration and to live. We cook with it, make coffee or tea with it, make ice with it, and use it as a base for other beverages.
For all these reasons, having safe, clean, great tasting water is essential, explains Eric. He and Nicole Blanchet own franchises in Bracebridge, Barrie, and Wasaga Beach. They provide homes and cottages throughout central Ontario and the surrounding areas with customized water treatment and filtration systems.
If a reverse osmosis system is called for, they can be installed under sinks and also tied in to the refrigerator’s water and ice dispensers.

The reverse osmosis system will remove sodium, potassium, magnesium and more. It can even make water safe in extreme circumstances where serious health risks exist, such as well or lake water exposed to arsenic or other chemicals and pollutants.
Whether it’s Muskoka, Simcoe, Georgian Bay or other areas, the reverse osmosis system provides that extra level of filtration to provide the cleanest tasting water, while also removing unwanted or unnecessary chemicals like fluoride or chlorine.
“However, this is not to replace a UV light filter or other treatment filters,” explains Eric. “If you have any type of bacteria, I do still recommend a UV system. The reverse osmosis process is to enhance the filter system, not to replace it.”
Finding the right system for your home or cottage is essential to having the cleanest, safest, purest drinking water available. Eric and his team will do a free consultation where they test the water for elements such as iron, sediments and tannins that cause discolouration and could cause issues.
“We have several filtration system options that can address each property’s needs,” explains Eric. “We’ll assess your water and advise you on the best course of action.”
