All properties, even seasonal ones, deserve potable tap water

You don’t have to put up with yellow water at your home or cottage.

Water that comes from a well or out of a lake needs the right treatment system, which includes custom filtration that targets sediment and tannins in that specific area.

“Too many people are still under the impression that all they need is a UV light, or that they have to live with the yellow or murky water,” says Eric. “Neither of those things are true. UV disinfection systems are a part of a quality system that treats microorganisms and pathogens like E. coli and coliform. But UV lights don’t treat everything.”

Eric Dube and Nicole Blanchet own Water Depot locations in Bracebridge, Barrie, Wasaga Beach.

A properly designed water treatment and filtration system will address all issues your water source presents; yellow tone caused by tannins, sediments commonly found in lake and well water, and iron that can smell bad and even can clog pipes and fixtures, to name a few.

“If tannins and sediment are not removed before entering a UV system, they can build up in the equipment and render the UV light ineffective,” Eric explains. “That’s why we like to assess a homeowner’s water source on site and make a proper recommendation for them.”

Three-season cottages too
Seasonal cottage owners sometimes say they can’t have a water treatment system because it’s too time consuming and difficult to winterize, says Eric.

“I hear it all the time and our clients are ecstatic when I explain it’s not as hard as it seems,” he says. “We have become experts at winterizing water treatment systems because three-season cottages deserve potable water too.”

At the cottage or at home, too many people wind up buying bottled water to drink and using tap water only for cleaning and bathing. Treating the water is more cost-effective and better for the environment. “We have several filtration system options that can address each property’s needs,” explains Eric. “We’ll assess your water and advise you on the best course of action.”

Whether you’re tired of that gross yellow water, want to have clean and safe water, or just want your tap water to taste good, the team at Water Depot can help. It all starts with a free consultation.

“Our in-home water tests allow us to customize your water treatment solution to your home’s water chemistry and family’s water demands,” says Eric.
