TIVA Building Products

Premium PVC boards will last a lifetime

Here in Ontario, we can only expect to average 18 weeks of good patio weather. As soon as spring arrives, we start circling dates on our calendars, penciling in summer parties and barbecues to make the most of the warm summer rays – that is, as long as the deck and dock are ready for visitors.

Unfortunately, if you have a wooden dock or deck, a to-do list of yearly maintenance is likely greeting you before you can ever greet visitors.

“While maintenance may seem like a yearly inconvenience, it doesn’t have to be,” says Terry Fangrad, owner of TIVA Building Products. Terry has been working in the deck and dock industry for decades and has found the key to a long-lasting deck is making sure it’s free of organic materials like wood and sawdust.

“Inorganic deck materials won’t rot and split or need staining, meaning you’ll be enjoying your deck season after season, decade after decade,” says Terry.

With this in mind, TIVA Building Products has created TIVADOK and TIVADEK – an innovative, patented line of PVC deck and dock boards designed to look great for a lifetime.

TIVADOK and TIVADEK are solid boards built with an advanced carbon nanotechnology core, to make the strongest, most stable PVC decking boards on the market. That core is covered with ASA (Acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile) capstock, a tough and rigid plastic that’s UV and water resistant, even in the harshest weather conditions.

There are TIVA boards for a wide range of uses. Some, such as the Marine Series, feature an aluminum core that allows them to span up to 32 inches on centre. Others, including the new Dockside Series with limited edition “weathered wood” emboss, are designed with versatility and ease-of-installation in mind.

“Our boards are not scalloped or grooved. The solid profile and superior material allow for these boards to perform unlike any composite or natural wood. They will resist mold, mildew, stains, scratches, harsh UV rays and stress due to weather extremes,” says Megan Fangrad, TIVA’s vice president. “You won’t see warping after installation, as can be observed with composite decking.”

Whether you’re building a new deck, dock, boardwalk, or are looking to replace your current boards, PVC decking is easy to install. “Our deck boards can be easily installed by any proficient building contractor,” says Megan.

Unlike traditional deck boards, which typically last 10-15 years, TIVADOK and TIVDADEK materials are covered by a lifetime warranty, and a 50 year warranty which includes fading and staining.

“With a premium product like TIVADOK and TIVADEK, you can rest assured that it will last for many seasons to come,” says Megan.
