Enjoying a relaxed golf experience with friends and family while immersed in some of the most incredible scenery in Ontario is just one of the reasons to book a tee time at the Ridge at Manitou.
“It’s easy to experience better golf just a short drive away from your Muskoka cottage,” says Chris Gale, co-founder of Purposeful Golf, which bought the course last year. “How many of us have driven an hour to play a great course? That’s all it takes to get to the Ridge. The incredibly special setting and relaxed atmosphere is worth the drive.”
Ranked by Golf Digest as the Best New Course in Canada in 2006, the Thomas McBroom-designed course has faced some challenging years. But the new owners are restoring and rejuvenating every aspect of the property, turning it back into a world-class golfing experience.

The club’s golfer-first approach means every guest is treated to elevated service and atmosphere. Improvements include increasing tee time intervals from 9 mins to 12 mins, which allows more space between groups and increased pace-of-play, leading to superior satisfaction throughout the day.
“Everything we do is part of our dedication to the promise of providing better golf experiences,” explains Ryan Dewey, co-founder and managing partner of Purposeful Golf.
Rejuvenation project
Chris, Ryan, and their team of caring professionals – from the new chef to the grounds crew to the clubhouse staff – are curating and elevating the golf experience for all who visit the property.
Additions to the clubhouse include the alluring ambiance of fire pits in relaxation areas, new manicured gardens, and much more.
The course is also being rejuvenated through enhanced turf maintenance, brush clearing and an attention to detail that elevates the golf experience for all who play.
Fly-and-play
More than just a great round of golf, many are looking for an unforgettable experience: the Ridge at Manitou’s fly-and-play opportunity provides just that.
The golf course’s own plane will pick you up at your dock and drop you off at their dock – then back again at the end of the day. The bird’s eye view of the lakes, trees, and golf course itself is as memorable as it can get.
“Whether you come by land, water, or air, we’re giving you the chance to experience better golf.”
