Bubble wrap

Stay at home, protected against mosquitoes and ticks

Heading into another spring and summer of pandemic living, it’s essential to have your property primed for summer fun.

Making sure your barbecues, toys, patios and other outdoor spaces and activities are ready is just the first step. To get the most enjoyment from your home or cottage, you’ll also need to protect it against harmful mosquitoes.

“The more time we spend outdoors on our properties, the more we’re presenting ourselves as a blood meal for mosquitoes,” explains Jordan Lavin, Chief Operating Officer of Mosquito.buzz. “Mosquitoes ignore the same social and physical distancing protocols as people, so it’s important to protect your bubble.”

It’s not just about avoiding annoying bites and accompanying itchiness: mosquitoes have the ability to spread West Nile Virus to humans and other animals. While there are plenty of proactive measures homeowners can take – including eliminating areas of standing water – the control treatments expertly administered by Mosquito.buzz will provide an invisible forcefield shield to keep mosquitoes away.

Each application carefully targets the pesky biters in their living, resting, and hiding spaces. These treatments are highly effective; they immediately eliminate adult populations while providing a residual barrier for 21 days.

“Then we’ll return to give your property another treatment,” says Shawn Karn, Technical Director of Mosquito.buzz. “You’ll have peace-of-mind knowing that your family is protected all season long, while getting increased enjoyment of your outdoor spaces.”

Tick Control
In the battle against ticks – especially the black-legged subspecies which spreads Lyme Disease – it’s important to have a varied arsenal at your disposal. Staying current on new products which can help keep properties safe from ticks led Mosquito.buzz to add a new product to their line-up of treatments.

“We have added tick control tubes to our control service,” says Jordan. “These complement our regular treatments to provide even more protection.”

Tick tubes go where sprays can’t reach.  The  tubes are small fibre cylinders filled with treated cotton and are strategically placed across the property where mice roam. Mice collect the cotton and use it to line their nest.  Ticks feeding on mice come in contact and die.

“Mice are prime hosts for ticks,” explains Shawn. “The control treatment won’t harm the mice themselves.”

Jordan notes that Mosquito.buzz uses treatments which are engineered and expertly applied to control their targets – namely mosquitoes and ticks – while being safe for children, pets, and other wildlife.

“We go after the pests which can carry harmful diseases, so the outdoors is safe for everyone to enjoy.”
