Pro Painters Muskoka

Quality products and technical painting skills enhance cottage curb appeal

It’s no secret that you can’t paint outdoors in winter. But how late in the fall can you go? Knowing the answer to that and other technical questions – and having the skills to execute the work to perfection – is one of the hallmarks of a quality painting company.

“We actually use specific products when fall comes – ones that can be applied as low as two degrees Celsius and still produce amazing results,” says Charles Veilleux, president and founder of Pro Painters Muskoka. “It allows our team to complete some projects before the owners are on site in the spring, or after they’re gone for the season in the fall.”

From the initial consultation about the colour scheme and project planning, through the final touches of cleaning up the work site, Pro Painters Muskoka provides a turnkey experience for their clients.

Their team is happy to advise on colour recommendations and product choices, of course, but their support even goes so far as providing a digital mock-up so clients can visualize what the end result will be.

“It can be difficult for homeowners to picture exactly what their property will look like with a fresh coat of paint – particularly if they are changing the colour,” explains Charles. “A digital mock-up makes an enormous difference and can often help people feel more confident in their colour choice even before the first brush stroke.”

The goal, he says, is to take away any stress and worry. “Our team takes care of everything so our clients can enjoy their properties. We’re dedicated to providing high end service, and we use the latest digital technology and high quality materials to help make every home, cottage and boathouse look its finest.”

Naturally that also includes working around cottage-use schedules. “Some people are up every weekend, some are up all summer but leave in the fall,” says Charles. “Everyone has their own schedule. We’ll work around that, to ensure that we don’t interfere with your enjoyment of the cottage.”

With a team that features over 150 years of combined experience, Pro Painters Muskoka is happy to take on complex jobs that others shy away from. As Charles notes, “we’ll always find a way to do it.”

Their team specializes in precision spray painting, as well as painting hard-to-reach places, such as boathouses, island properties, and metal roofs.

The details count
Their team ensures all the details are considered, which starts with proper preparation. This includes sanding any areas that need it, cleaning the surfaces before applying paint, filling in holes or gaps with wood filler or caulking, and other necessary touch-ups.

“Making sure the surface is properly prepped is a very important step in providing our clients with the best possible painting service,” says Charles. “And once the job is done right, it will help protect the painted surfaces as well as enhance the curb appeal of the buildings.”

Last year, Pro Painters Muskoka completed painting projects at 157 properties, leading them to double the size of their team this year to keep up with the demand.

“We now have 24 staff members helping care for our clients throughout the region,” explains Charles.

New service
Once you have that stunning new coat of paint, it’s important to keep up with regular maintenance to extend its best life.

To help with this, Charles has started Pro Washers Muskoka, which offers power washing of homes, cottages, boathouses, decks, docks and more. They will wash at the beginning and end of the cottage season, as well as spiffing up your buildings before big events and social functions.

“It’s about more than just making it look good,” says Charles. “A quality power wash will remove potentially damaging organisms like mildew, algae and more, which helps keep your property in great condition.”
