Summers are a sacred time in Ontario, especially weekends when family and friends can come together and enjoy the warm air and refreshing lakefront.
“Whether you’re hosting family at the cottage or prepping your weekend retreat for renters, there’s one thing you don’t want to see at the end of your dock: debris,” says Bob Willard, owner of Pond Perfections – a company that specializes in creating enjoyable waterfronts with aquatic weed removal products.
The solution for waterfront weeds and debris, Bob says, can be found in three simple steps: break down sludge, control weeds, and blow debris.
Break down sludge
Pond Perfections’ sludge reduction pellets break down sludge and discourage weed growth and have already generated their own fan following. The secret behind the sludge reduction pellets is that they consist of enzymes that break down the organic sludge and use a beneficial bacteria to consume the sludge.
“They’re specially formulated for colder Canadian waters, to create cleaner, healthier lakefronts,” says Bob.
Cut and control weeds
Pond Perfections’ Aquatic Weed Roller cuts roots and removes weeds along the lakeshore, cleaning a two-foot-wide path using a strong aluminum handle that extends up to 20 feet in length, making even the deepest shorefronts manageable.
“It’s designed to cut and remove weed roots, as well as aerating the muck to speed up its decomposition. You can turbo-boost the decomposition if you have applied sludge reduction pellets first,” says Bob.
Blow debris
Finally, redirect the debris floating on the water’s surface by blowing it up to 100 feet away from your dock with an aquatic weed blower. “These blowers are perfect for getting rid of floating weeds, algae, or fall leaves just before guests arrive.”
Pond Perfections’ Aquatic Weed Blowers can be installed in a stationary mount attached to your dock or boathouse, or in a portable mount system. The blower has six different angles and can rotate 360 degrees, making it ideal for pushing away both summer debris and winter ice that can damage your dock.
Use for years
Helping customers achieve healthy, beautiful ponds and waterfronts has been a passion for Bob over his 30-plus years in the industry. He loves to share his experience and knowledge to help others with their ponds and lakeshore aquatic needs.
“When I select or invent products to provide for clients, I’m looking for efficiency, durability, and longevity,” says Bob. “I stand behind these products 100-per cent. Everything is built strong, to keep your waters beautiful for years to come.”
