The large deck facing the water is a fantastic place to sit and enjoy the views. But it doesn’t get much use when the weather warms because the open space is susceptible to pest activity.
There is a solution to this issue, says Kevin Cardwell of Muskokify. He recommends installing a Horizon screen that is designed specifically for large openings.
“This is the best screen currently on the market,” says Kevin. “Bring the outdoors in and leave out the bugs.”
The Horizon is designed to be installed on any difficult-to-screen opening. A single unit can span up to 21 feet, and the units can be doubled up to cover an astonishing 42 feet.
“With the right planning and expert installation, you can make a Muskoka room out of an open deck,” says Kevin.
It’s not only decks that these large screens are built to fit. They can be paired with oversized entrance ways such as French doors, bi-fold doors, garage doors and more.
The screens are made for high-traffic areas that get a lot of use. The maximum height is an incredible 11 feet tall, providing enough space that even NBA centres can comfortably walk through. It also has impressive strength: it can withstand 100 km per hour winds.
They feature a low-profile track – only half an inch high – which is barely noticeable when walking in and out. There are no visible fasteners, providing a sleek and pleasing look.
Operated manually, the autobrake feature provides ease of use and convenience when wanting to open and close the screens.
It’s an integrated braking system that is engaged by opening and closing a flush-to-the-frame handle which activates the spring-operated autobrake mechanism. With tracks running top and bottom without notches, the screen can be braked anywhere along the track.
This opens up options for using the screen, while also preventing increased wear and tear on the individual areas.
“It takes seconds to open and close this screen with zero to minimal effort,” says Kevin. “In the summer and spring, it’s great for stepping in and out quickly when barbecuing or heading down to the water . . . you can create a mini door as big or small as you need that takes mere seconds to open and close.”
Perhaps most importantly, the Horizon screens expertly installed by Muskokify will increase enjoyment of your outdoor spaces.
Motorized screens are another great option, says Kevin.
They’re convenient to use and allow for simple press of the button operation; and can be custom built to fit any size opening.
“Motorized screens are another way to bring the outdoors in while keeping the bugs out.”
