Mosquitoes!” It might not be as bad as hearing someone yell “SHARK!” when you’re swimming, but it’s still enough to make you flee for shelter. These harmful biters aggressively source and reach their blood meal any day, anytime, and anywhere.
But what can be done about it?
“Season-long mosquito control service: it’s that simple,” says Jordan Lavin, Chief Operating Officer of mosquito.buzz. “Canadian summers are far too short to be chased inside by mosquitoes. We’ve spent the past seven years perfecting the art, ensuring every hour is mosquito free.”
Whether you’re beside the campfire roasting marshmallows, barbequing on the back deck, lounging around the pool, hosting friends and family in the back yard, or having a weekend of fun at the cottage, the expert technicians from mosquito.buzz protect your property.
No mosquitoes. It may sound too good to be true, but the hundreds of positive reviews from returning customers speak for themselves.
Kate Fairfield says “We used the service for the first time last year, and I was skeptical, but wow does it ever work! We signed on again this year as the difference in mosquitos was amazing!”
Helen Walker adds: “We have loved the service and the results. The product has delivered, and we have really enjoyed being able to sit out. They have been so positive to work with.”
Technical Director Shawn Karn says there are a number of questions that come up regularly. “People always ask how the service works. Is it safe for people, pets, and children? And how much does it cost for the season?”
The mosquito barrier control is applied by technicians using a backpack sprayer – an application method which allows for maximum impact and coverage where mosquitoes live, rest, and hide. Fine droplets of spray provide immediate knockdown control. Applications are made every 21 days, ensuring season long control.
Mosquito barrier products are regulated by Health Canada and approved by the Pest Management Regulatory Agency. The product contains the synthetic form of pyrethrin, which is the natural by-product of the chrysanthemum flower.
The season-long price for an average half acre property is $700, with marginal increases as the acreage increases. Special event pricing is also available for weddings, parties, and other large group gatherings.
It’s hard not to notice one of the 60-plus orange “Buzzmobiles” in the area, which Shawn says leads to another common question: “what’s with the fancy orange pants the technicians wear?”
Shawn quotes a famous Nike ad, where Spike Lee asked Michael Jordan what makes him the greatest basketball player in the universe. The answer comes back: “It’s gotta be the shoes!”
“As for the effectiveness of our mosquito control service,” Shawn jokes, “we like to think it’s gotta be something to do with our orange pants!”
