Staycations by Ontario residents are leading to increased demand for high-end cottage rentals throughout cottage country.
Many families are looking to escape to a private location for extended periods of time and get a five-star hotel experience, says Jayne McCaw of Jayne’s Luxury Rentals. And in the process, this is providing cottage owners with a seamless way to earn income from their property.
While offering over 250 luxury properties in Muskoka, Simcoe and beyond catches guests’ attention, it’s the service they receive throughout their stay that keeps them coming back for more, says Jayne.
“We’re dedicated to giving a first-class experience,” says Jayne, who started the company in 2014. “Our properties are outfitted like luxury hotels and we uphold the same – if not better – cleaning standards.”
Jayne’s Luxury Rentals also provides a full-concierge service to all guests. From being greeted upon arrival to 24-7 guest support and other services, they give their guests a true vacation.
This year they have added Peloton bikes and other fitness equipment, including a portable gym and treadmills for their guests’ enjoyment.
“We can arrange for private chefs, shopping service, trampoline and equipment rentals, and much more,” says Jayne. If guests want Peloton fitness equipment, a portable gym, or peddle boat, Jayne’s team will arrange it. “We meet the expectation that every whim is being taken care of without any worries.”
Jayne’s team is also working with their property owners and local internet providers to ensure the guests have the service needed during a long stay – especially when they’re working from the cottage.
This great service has led to a guest return rate of 70 percent, with many booking for extended stays and returning to the same property year after year. This steady and reliable source of rental income combined with great service and care has created happy property owners willing to rent with Jayne’s.
Jayne’s team develops an encyclopedic knowledge of the properties they rent. They take meticulous notes and photos to ensure items such as dishes, utensils and outdoor furniture are returned to their appropriate places when guests leave.
They also will do quality inspections and a deep clean before the owners return to the property. This way if there is any damage or issues, Jayne and her team can proactively address them.
