Restrictive pandemic protocols and a huge demand for contracting services have created the perfect storm to slow production across the board in almost every trade.
The paving industry is no exception, says Ital Paving owner Niki Pickett. She says a major challenge all contractors have faced during the pandemic are restrictions regarding the number of people allowed to be working at the same time on one site.
Where in the past Ital Paving could have a fully staffed crew of up to 15 members on each project, that was cut to a third during the pandemic.
“Our team members on site have had to take on double the tasks to compensate for the reduced staff and same workload just to keep up,” says Niki.
As well, working around varying weather conditions put more stress on timelines. These combined factors – as well as backlogs in obtaining industry-specific equipment – means property owners were having to wait a little longer than normal to see their projects completed.
“We love our work, and we love our clients,” says Niki. “We appreciate the continued support and patience that our clients have shown us. With restrictions being lifted we are now allowed to operate at full capacity and continue to provide quality paving services that match the investment you’re making in your property.”
Decades of knowledge
Specialists in asphalt, Ital Paving has been in business for 36 years, completing projects both big and small across central Ontario.
This experience is why Ital Paving’s team knows that there are plenty of considerations needed before breaking ground on a new driveway. The choice of material and the approach is dictated in part by size, slope, drainage, and more.
“Local contractors such as Ital Paving understand the area because we live and work here all year round. We will visit your property and provide the best advice on what you need to have a durable, smooth, and attractive driveway,” says Niki. “Our level of experience makes Ital Paving the number one choice when it comes to paving standard, complex, and irregular projects, both large and small.”
“From all of us at Ital Paving, we would like to thank you for continuing to support local businesses.”
