We can’t rewind time, but we can help reverse the signs of aging skin.
“The latest innovations in aesthetic procedures are making it easier to regenerate collagen, restore natural volume and restore skin texture,” says Nurse Practitioner Emily Greb, Face First Medical Aesthetics and Wellness’s medical director and owner.
While topical serums and creams enriched with retinol and vitamins can be great at-home tools, they can only go so far. “For noticeable results without the downtime, you can’t beat in-office procedures like radio frequency microneedling, laser, and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments.”
While these treatments have been around for years, today’s technology is making them safer and less painful than ever.
Erase wrinkles
To give clients the best results with the least discomfort, Emily has added the industry’s leading radio frequency microneedling device: the Genius by Lutronic.
While traditional microneedling methods rely solely on mechanical stimulation, the Genius uses a unique blend of microneedling and radiofrequency technology to heat the skin while stimulating collagen production and promoting skin rejuvenation.
“It’s great for toning down acne scars, sagging skin, and wrinkles on the face and neck,” says Emily. She and her team have already used this technology to treat themselves. “I think it’s the best on the market. We’re so proud to offer it to our clients.”
Restore volumeWhile we often think of wrinkles when someone mentions aging, the loss of facial volume can also make us look and feel past our prime.
“Filler isn’t recommended for delicate under-eye areas, but PRP is a great alternative. It’s a highly effective method for stimulating your body’s cells to produce new, healthy-looking skin, using a natural gel made from your own plasma – there’s nothing added to it.”
Unlike filler treatments, Emily adds, you could treat your entire face in one session with a PRP gel called NaturaGel without some of the risks associated with dermal filler, and enjoy the results for up to six months.
Destroy discolouration
If you’re looking to erase sunspots, age spots and hyperpigmentation, there’s no better time of year to do it than now, when we’re spending less time outdoors in the sun, notes Emily. And there’s no better way to brighten your skin than with IPL laser treatments.
“IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is the perfect winter treatment.” IPL works by selectively destroying specific pigments, such as melanin and red blood cells, without harming the surrounding tissue.
It reduces unwanted pigmentation, including sunspots, freckles, and age spots, and diminishes wrinkles by stimulating collagen production. It can also be used to treat spider veins by targeting the red blood cells within these vessels.
With holiday parties around the corner, now’s the time to boost your confidence and treat your skin to a youthful glow.
