Go ahead. Let your imagination run wild. Your cottage isn’t cookie-cutter, so why should your pool be? Marc Luff, Sales Manager and co-owner for Betz Pools, says there’s no reason to settle for less than the worry-free pool of your dreams at the cottage.
Betz Pools has crafted dozens of one-of-a-kind luxury concrete pools in Muskoka, so their clients can swim regardless of whether the lake is too cold, or rough or, well, ‘icky’.
“If you want a negative edge infinity pool that extends 100 feet and disappears with the touch of a button? No problem. A pool that is properly designed and built for the rugged Muskoka terrain? We can do that,” says Mario Blanchet, Construction Division Manager and co-owner.
Last year, the Betz Pools team built a ‘moving floor’ flagstone pool on Lake Ontario. The pool’s innovative design uses the latest technology to create the seemingly impossible. “It looks like a flagstone patio, until you press ‘the button’, and the patio will sink, and water comes in through strategically placed holes. What was an enormous patio is now a swimming pool.”
This inventive approach has taken their team across the globe, flying into client properties across Canada, in Bermuda and beyond to create breathtaking pools.

Designed for Muskoka
Today, the Betz Pools design team is seeing many cottagers adding concrete pools to their Muskoka properties – designed to fit the scale and beauty of their surroundings.
Unlike standard vinyl and fibreglass pools, Betz’s concrete pools are built to last for generations. They are also completely customizable, as they’re crafted by hand by seasoned pool builders.
“You come to us with your ideas, and we’ll design the best pool for your project, including options for waterfalls and glass walls, as well as automation, self-cleaning systems, and automated covers, which help to lessen the impact on the environment.”
While each green alternative is designed to save clients more by conserving water, lessening the chemicals used, and cutting operating costs, their pool designs are also carefully vetted by the Betz Pools service team, to ensure every pool will continue to perform properly years after they’re installed.

“These service tests ensure our designs won’t cause us or our clients issues years down the road. All too often, we take pools into our service roster that were poorly designed by others, have the wrong plumbing, or have key components that are inaccessible for proper servicing down the road,” says Matt Michell, Service Department Manager.
Each Betz Pools design is equipped with an automation package that allows their clients to heat and adjust other luxury features on the pool by using a smartphone app.

This year, Betz Pools has opened a Muskoka service division, allowing their team of technicians to service the pool and its equipment from spring through fall. The Weekly Service team is properly trained to manage water clarity and chemical balance and to ensure their Muskoka clients’ pools are ready to enjoy throughout the swimming season.
“A custom-designed concrete pool is a large investment. We’ll help you to design it right, and enjoy it season after season,” says Marc.
